Seven Great Clans — Crab, Crane, Dragon, Lion, Phoenix, Scorpion and Unicorn — fight for the fortress of Toshi Ranbo. Each clan has its own abilities and its own hidden agenda, so nobody at the table can be certain who is actually winning. Build your tableau, move your heroes, win battles, and reveal seven gunsen to take the game.
A gunsen is a folding war fan, the thing a commander used to signal orders across a battlefield. That is the whole design idea: you are not a lone samurai cutting a path through the enemy, you are the general, and the fan is how your intent reaches your troops. Timing and positioning matter more than raw force.
